Environmental Management System

Port of Townsville Limited maintains a high level of commitment to sustainable development and operation through its Environmental Management System, certified to ISO 14001:2004. The Environmental Management System aims to facilitate the continual improvement of environmental performance by:

  • Integrating environmental considerations into decision making and work practices related to the Corporation’s core functions.
  • Maintaining a high level of environmental awareness throughout the Corporation and the wider port Community; and
  • Utilising systems which act to minimise the risk of environmental harm through the identification reporting, assessment, monitoring and control of environmental risks.
