June 8, 2005 For the first time in over ten years the Port of Townsville will play host to five naval vessels at the same time. The American warships USS Boxer, USS John Paul Jones, and USS Fitzgerald arrived in Port this morning, also joined by two Australian vessels, HMAS Wewak and HMAS Labuan. |

Port Authority Urges Red Cross Support |

June 16, 2005 TOWNSVILLE Port Authority is calling on the wider port and business community to roll up its sleeves and get behind the Red Cross. The Red Cross mobile blood collection unit will be set up at the Port on Wednesday, 15 June as part of a regular and ongoing donation program. |

Townsville Port Authority Donates $100,000 to VP60 Celebrations |

June 21, 2005 The Port of Townsville has contributed $100,000 to the VP60 celebrations to be held in Townsville from 12-15 August. The contribution will be used to umbrella all events, however it will be the ‘living heroes’ sky show – to be held on the foreshores of the Townsville Strand, that will be absorbing the majority of the funds. |

TPA Appoints 3 New Board Members |

July 5, 2005 The Board of Townsville Port Authority has been reconstituted by the Queensland Government with effect from 1 July 2005. Chairman Ron McLean has been re-appointed until the end of September 2007 and three of the other five Directors whose terms expired have been replaced. |
