The Australian Army Reserve, Royal Australian Engineers will be conducting a comprehensive training exercise in the Port of Townsville this weekend.
On Saturday, 27th October, the Engineers of 35 Field Squadron will conduct a training exercise that involves security activities, which include specialised search techniques and vehicle check point controls throughout the port facility.

Dredging of the Outer Harbour and Shipping Channel commenced this week at the Port of Townsville.
Forming part of a regular maintenance program, this campaign will continue for the next five weeks and will cost approximately $3 million.

New Chairman Appointed to Authority Board |

Mr. Ross Dunning has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Townsville Port Authority following the retirement of the long-serving Ron McLean.
He brings to the port the engineering and management background which will assist the Board to address the challenges facing the port as it meets the future needs of its users.
