Townsville Port Authority employees have rescued a seaman who had fallen from a ship in Cleveland Bay. The seaman, who was rigging the pilot ladder at the time, fell overboard from the Emerald Halo at approximately midnight on Friday, 28 July while the ship was in the Platypus channel, leaving the Port of Townsville. |

Scholarship Program Announced |

Townsville Port Authority has announced the formation of a new scholarship program aimed at students enrolled or planning to enrol at James Cook University. The program, which will commence in 2007, will award $5,000 dollars to a full-time student in an undergraduate degree course at JCU. |
