The Port Community Partnerships Forum was set up in 2005 to provide a means through which interested community-based groups can provide comment on Port related policies, development plans, management programs and ongoing operations that may impact on specific community interests. The Forum will also provide an opportunity for the Port of Townsville to provide the community with information regarding operations and future development activities at the port.
The Forum promotes the development of a co-operative and consultative relationship between the Port of Townsville and the wider local community thereby ensuring that operations at the port remain sensitive to the interests and expectations of the community.
It is an exciting time for the Port of Townsville and surrounding communities with significant regional growth. Effective management and planning is a key component to ensuring that existing activities and future growth is undertaken in a sustainable manner.
The group meets quarterly or as required depending on the specific projects or issues that may require discussion.
