Townsville Port Authority has prepared a Statement of Proposal in conjunction with a future Land Use Plan for the management of our Strategic Port Land as defined and required under the provisions of the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994.

The Statement of Proposal is available for review and comment by the community and other stakeholders from Tuesday 12 September 2006 to Thursday 9 November 2006.

It is intended that the feedback received from the community, key stakeholders and Government agencies to the core matters presented in the Statement of Proposal will directly influence what will be contained in the draft Land Use Plan.

Once the draft Land Use Plan has been prepared, it will also be made available for public comment prior to being finalised and adopted by the Townsville Port Authority.

The Authority is seeking comments on the Statement of Proposal to assist Townsville Port Authority to identify all relevant issues and measures, which should be identified and undertaken by Townsville Port Authority with its draft Land Use Plan.

We request that you lodge a written submission, detailing your opinions. Information regarding the closing time for a submission and submission procedure are outlined in the Statement of Proposal.
