TPA Website Wins Queensland Media Award

Townsville Port Authority’s recently re-launched website - www.townsville-port.com.au - has won a Queensland media award for best website over $5,000 at a ceremony held in Cairns in October.

Since its launch in February this year, the website has recorded over 1.5 million hits. It provides an excellent resource for both Port customers and the community as a whole, with up-to-date and in-depth information on the Port of Townsville.

Mr. Barry Holden, Townsville Port Authority Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are extremely pleased that our website has taken out this award. Thanks must go to our employees involved in the redevelopment and to Visual Obsession, a Cairns-based organisation, who developed the website.

“The new website addresses the Port’s commitment to customer service and developing customer relationships by providing existing and potential customers clear and understandable information on how Townsville Port Authority can help them with their business,” he said.

Members of the community can read about the history of the Port and the city of Townsville, review the main products and trade destinations, and read about what the Port is doing to protect our environment. Regular updates to the site include news releases, a variety of informational newsletters, brochures and publications.

Other useful information contained in the site includes an A-Z list of Port customers, shipping lines servicing the Port, future plans for the Port, trade statistics, harbour depths, and real-time updates of ship and cruise schedules.
