Army Reserve Training Exercise at the Port of Townsville |

The Australian Army Reserve, Royal Australian Engineers will be conducting a comprehensive training exercise in the Port of Townsville this weekend.
On Saturday, 27th October, the Engineers of 35 Field Squadron will conduct a training exercise that involves security activities, which include specialised search techniques and vehicle check point controls throughout the port facility.
Townsville Port Authority has granted permission for the Army Reserve to erect a temporary control point on Benwell Road, as well as the use of port facilities to assist with these exercises.
Townsville Port Authority Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Barry Holden said: “Townsville Port Authority has supported the Australian Defence Force and Army Reserve for many years. I am pleased that we are able to continue with tangible support and provide a realistic setting for this exercise.”
