The Townsville Port boasts a near-new cruise ship terminal (Quayside Terminal) and a berth that (at a minimum) can accommodate vessels with dimensions LOA - 238 metres. Larger vessels are able to anchor safely off Magnetic Island - SeaLink Queensland provide exceptional tender services and can transfer up to 300 passengers per ferry.

Cruise ships have priority berth rights on Berth 10 if bookings are made 12 months prior to arrival.
When cruise ships are in port, Quayside Terminal and Berth 10 operate in compliance with Australian legislative security requirements including those set by the Office of Transport Security, Department of Agriculture, Australian Customs and Border Protection. Vessels visiting Townsville must be capable carrying out 100% screening of all persons who board the vessel.

- Quay line fuel valves for diesel with flow rate of 350,000 L/hr
- Quay line potable water manifold connecting the Townsville City Council municipal water supply
- Quay line sewage manifold for fresh water sewage connecting to Townsville City Council sewage system
- Telecom connectivity
- Quay line and land side hydrant connections to port saltwater fire system
Quayside Terminal can process up to 1000 passengers an hour onto or off a security regulated vessel and includes:
- Fully air conditioned
- Undercover meet and greet area
- Multi-bay bus and taxi rank area including excellent turn around spaces
- Public amenity including toilets
- Australian Customs, Border Protection and Department of Agriculture passenger screening
- Ticketing area
The city of Townsville guarantees a friendly and professional welcome and departure experience for all cruise ships and their guests.
Upon disembarkation, passengers walk across the berth to Quayside Terminal, with port staff ensuring adequate wayfinding and information until they reach the terminal. Once inside, guests are greeted with live music and volunteers from Townsville Enterprise who provide information on city attractions and distribute maps and other helpful materials to ensure our visitors have the best experience possible in our city.
