Berths & Capability

The Port of Townsville's eight operational berths handle one of the most diverse regional commodity bases in the nation including resource, agricultural, industrial and retail sectors; containerised, dry bulk, bulk liquid and break-bulk cargoes; exports from across Queensland; and imports from around Australia and the globe.

Despite regular maintenance, swing basins, berth pockets and associated channels within the Port of Townsville are subjected to constant siltation and declared depths may differ from design depths.  A Notice to Mariners is issued for every change in declared depths and can be found here.
