Light (PAR)

The amount of light reaching the seabed is measured via photosynthetic active radiation (PAR).

Natural occurrences such as weather events (cloud cover) and turbidity (natural and human-caused), alongside the depth of the water at any one site can influence the amount of light that reaches the seabed through the water column.

Seagrasses and corals require a certain amount of light to thrive, meaning higher light readings are positive.
